Here are some pictures from the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich. The major structure, El Castillo, is the second highest structure in Belize.

There is active excavation work going on at Xunantunich, but the site is very accessible to visitors.

This is the map of the Mayan site at Xunantunich, Belize. The site is close to the Guatemalan border, and 10 minutes from the Belize town of San Ignacio. Access is by hand-cranked ferry across the river and then a 1km access road.
